A detailed planning application has been submitted on behalf of the GLA, the National Sports Centre’s owners, to Bromley Council for the long-awaited redevelopment of the site. The plans are ambitious and wide-ranging. Inside the NSC building itself, the 50 metre pool will be restored. Partitioning wet and dry areas of the building will reduce energy use. Externally, the plans aim to integrate the NSC with the rest of Crystal Palace Park, for example by providing a step-free loop ascending from ground level to the existing high level walkway.
